Just What Would It Take, Mr. Lyon?

I confess to being curious as to just what it would take to cause the ineffective and invisible Parliamentary Commissioner For Standards to actually grow a backbone and some testicles and start doing the job he gets £108,000 a year of taxpayers' money for. Plus Pension and Perks, I expect.

Of course, he has the example of Elizabeth Filkin to worry about. But as he can't (from what I understand) be sacked or re-appointed, what the fucking hell is he worried about?

He's got an even bigger blind eye than the Prime Mentalist!

Probably too busy watching dirty movies with The Home Secretary to worry about standards. may have done a report on the excellent quality of the films, mind you!

The People is running a story that the unknown Lady of The Commons has at least 5 other adherents in the H of C, who must be shitting themselves this morning, or getting the chequebooks out.

What was the name of the officer who, in 48 hours, ruled that Nigel Griffiths had broke no laws, no rules?

Maybe the Lady is a moonlighting female Labour MP or she is on some special locally targeted Job Creation Initiative Scheme?

John Lyon really isn't not up to the job, which is probably why he's got it.

I'd love the job, but I suspect they'd bury my reports the way they buried most of Ms Filkins.

Still, it would add spice and excitement to my walks in the countryside!
