Magnolia

At the front of the house I have a Magnolia Soulangia. Currently in full bloom, and looking superb. Some years it flowers too early for its own good, and the blooms are then trashed by inclement weather, but this year has been good for it.

I planted it on moving here, about 19 years ago, along with a Wisteria Sinensis, which regularly turns into a Triffid and tries to invade the ensuite through the window, and requires severe pruning to keep under some semblance of control.

Beautiful. I planted one here too some 15 years ago but it's in the wrong place and I'm told they shouldn't be moved.

Unfortunately more often than not, up here the late frosts get it but I have had a few stunning blooms over the years. A few buds around right now so fingers crossed they won't perish.

Makes your heart glad, every year without fail, that sight of a front-garden magnolia.

And I'll not hear a word against Wisteria sinensis!

Even in the dark days of winter, the fat grey-green buds are a promise that is never broken.

We put a Magnolia in the garden about 3 years back. It's just coming into flower and looks magnificent.

I've got magnolia on the staircase and landing walls. I haven't seen it bloom yet :-)

Lovely! Thanks for posting. I await a photo of wisteria ambushing your home.

Funny how the hysterical rantings of the Global Warmists have subsided this year. The Hawthorn has not flowered yet but a few years ago it popped out in early April. And it was further proof of Climate Change. Nothing like that this year.

Yes, the Big Fib of Global Warming. Climate change is inevitable, but nothing to do with carbon emissions, it is all to do with the Sun.

It's Ok - when Dave loses the next election after a hung parliament - Guido will still spunk in your face.

Oh look! There's little "Cuse", forever fixated on Paul Staines, although too afraid to go back and post comments there.

What a sad case he is.
