Letting off steam. You don't have to like it or agree with it, it is written for my benefit and no one else's. Feel free to add comments if you choose. There will be no moderation. If you choose to post personal attacks, I may well leave them there, so that the bile can fester in the sunshine of my approval, as I regard it from the vantage point of the moral highground.

Bastards, utter evil amoral fucking bastards.
Whats our defence policy to do a Neil Kinnock and hide in the Welsh hills?
I had this Tuesday and yes, I second Fido, it's a damned disgrace.

I have to admit it does seem a bit fragile having just 8 planes protecting us but more to the point, who is going to attack us ?
AMW, Were you never a Boy Scout? "Always Be Prepared".
The one thing a country should hold to its heart is its Armed Forces because they are at the forefront of defence.
A country that has it's Armed Forces overseas and overstretched is a weak country.
Well, AMW, when I was a mere lad, it was the USSR as were the potential acctakcers, and the English Electric Lightnings were regularly scrambled from RAF Coltishall to tell their bombers that they had been noticed and were not welcome. I could see them if it was a clear day, and hear them no matter what the weather conditions.
Now we have the Russians busily making noises and re-arming, plus lots of "friendly" Islamic Nations, and a looming shortage of resources in the world, including water, to squabble over.
And History suggests it is as well to have a big stick to hand, even if you are walking quietly along minding your own business.
Bloody flippers. Attackers!!!!
Penguin - you might like this YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZYkse1x-ys - a pity they couldn't use the right picture.
The E.E.Lightning - an awesome machine, I can just remember them myself when they had regular airshows at RAF Coltishall.
If you've got £6k to spare you can get a ride in one at Thunder City in South Africa....
Rest easy everyone, they said on the Beeb that we only really need two ( 2 ) aircraft to defend our skys at any one time so 12 in total is plenty.
So that's all right then.
