Civil Service Lied To Police Over Leaks

"You can tell when I'm lying because my lips move!"

Oooooh Errrrr! Sir David Normington and Chris Wright, senior civil servants and supposedly free from the taint of tribal politics seem to have gone way past the line of what is acceptable.

Their desire to save Fat Lodger Jacqui "Two Homes Secretary" Smith and her useless little assistant Phil "Custard Pie" Woolas any further embarrassment about leaked immigration issues led them to inflate the problem to one of "national security" and this exaggeration brought an overly keen Inspector Knacker rushing in to arrest Damien Green and tramp all over Parliamentary Privilege in the process. I may have written about this at the time.

It also seems that Sir David was economical with the truth when being grilled by the Home Affairs Select Committe.

I think he'll be enjoying a posting to somewhere exotic like Hartlepool when there is a change of regime.

So being impartial means getting on the floor, having a gob filled with Gordon pork and then claiming not to be gay.

Isn't 'the Smiling Assassin' Normington the Cabinet Office chap who made the original police complaint on nat sec grounds or have I just not had enough coffee yet? One definite thing though: I'm ashamed he's a Yorkshire-man. He ought to get himself a proper job.
