A Strange Sad "Victory"

The families of those murdered by the Omagh bomb have achieved a victory in their private prosecution of 4 members of the Real IRA.

That they had to take this course of action is shameful.

Why could not the authorities do the job they are supposed to do? More broken promises from Bliar and Mandelson, more proof of a Justice system which is in complete disarray.

It is not so far back that soldiers who had served there and been involved in "incidents" were at the request of Sinn Fein and the IRA were to be prosecuted in court for their actions carried out at the behest of the NuLiebore Gov. This all in the name of appeasement (read self aggrandisement and furtherance).

Many expected a knock at the door and subsequent arrest. It was finally dropped, but I doubt not that it will rear its ugly head again. Utter utter übercunts

This wasn't a private prosecution, it was a civil damages case. Different standard of proof required.
