One senior NuLiebore Minister is "having a good war" over the expenses scandal. As the majority of the outrageous troughing concerns the second homes of MPs, she is untainted as she is an inner London MP and therefore not entitled to that particular "benefit".
Alone amongst her cabinet colleagues she is happy to give interviews, in which she is gamely trying to defend the indefensible. Of course, she's not convincing sceptical Joe Public, but that is not Harriet's plan. She's gaining stature and positioning herself as the next NuLiebore leader, "the cabinet minister with clean hands".
As the only "new leader" who would be even more damaging to NuLiebore at the elections than the mad bunker-dwelling Scottish cunt, this can only be a good thing!

Agreed. If Albatross McBroon gets the heave ho, I do hope Harpy Harperson becomes leader as she is such an unelectable madwoman. Only she could draft an 'equalities bill' that was so blatantly discriminatory!
It must be another aspect of politicians' lack of sanity that she believes she'd be a competent leader.
