Please, God, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is rumoured that Jonah McDoom wants to be the next managing directgor of the IMF.

Never mind the fact that he is supremely under-qualified for the post, or that his track record of fucking up financial regulation in the UK, flogging our gold at rock-bottom price, running the economy into the worse bust in history, picking his nose on camera, throwing tantrums, telling lies, and generally being a cunt - what about the Curse Of Jonah?

Within months, the IMF would be dead in the water...

The IMF and the World Bank being dead in the water is the best news so far this year. The "policies" (more austerity for the masses) of both are usually disastrously detrimental to countries affected (infected?) by their presence, and are designed to ensure that countries to whom they lend money fall deeper into their clutches as the years go by. Just look at e.g. the economies of many African countries who followed IMF/World Bank "advice". None of them are any further forward and all of them are deeper in debt with no hope of ever repaying their loans. The only beneficiaries if these organisations are their overpaid fat cat officers who swan around benighted countries in their limos. I know all this because I had the "pleasure" of dealing with many of them at the sharp end for 15 years or so.

Without the mythical safety blanket of these organisations in the background, governments might perhaps be more inclined to follow more responsible policies. Te "stigma" of calling in the IMF to sort out a country seems to have gone with the wind too.

WV = raffixtit: hence my nom de guerre for this contribution.

‘Brown is the obvious candidate,’ a source said last night.

The mind boggles at the intellectual abilities (or lack, thereof) of the "source"....

Anyone seeing the reception he got at Soros' weekend Bretton Woods bash would be in no doubt that this is where he's heading. Bring it on, and bring it down!

Perhaps they wont give him the keys to the safe eh.

Hmmm.

Isn't this just a reward for a job well done, he gets the country further into debt/slavery with the international banking cartels (money makers) thanks gordy you've done a great job, here's the pay off.

Rather like el'tony bombing the brown people in the middle east, another job well done, his reward was 'middle east peace envoy'.

That's not even mentioning links to to other dubious establishment's

Just me being cynical I suppose :(
