No, microdave, just the peculiarity that was Eastman's Kodakchrome.
I was delighted to do away with film, digital saves me a fortune, as I'm the sort of mug who'd go on a walking holiday in the Lakes and come home with 76 or so 36-out films to be developed and printed (and mostly thrown away!)

Yes, digital is so much less hassle, but I've noticed that I don't spend as much time composing shots. When I was downunder years ago and film was still the only thing around, I had to be a little bit more sparing. I came back with nearly 700 pictures, of which some 650 were good 'uns...
This post had me scared for a moment - I thought Paul Simon had passed away. As far as pictures go, I don't even know how to turn a camera on, but I do love that old song.
The two one-Gig memory cards I bought to go with the Canon EOS 300D give me up to 800 or so photographs between dumping the contents onto the PC and sorting wheat from chaff. (I waited until they brought out a DSLR that would also accept my old lenses).
I confess I hardly bother using any lens other than the lightweight 18-55mm that came "free" with the camera.
Used with Photoshop I have (as a complete amateur!) managed to use it as basis for design of a 40 feet by 8 feet banner design where the image was so clear you could make out the rivets on the individual bits of chain-maille.
Landscape and flowers, cats and grandchildren, and no handing over any more dosh for film, postage, processing, etc.
