If proof were wanted about Beer Goggles, you have only to turn to the Shannon Matthews story.
However, that same story also illustrates the disgraceful way that the welfare state has (presumably by accident?) spawned an underclass whose meal ticket is a series of kids by different transient blokes.
And that the "decent ordinary criminals" in Her Majesty's Holiday Camps don't think child abusers should have an easy time. So there's hope for the Barker Brothers yet.
