Anyone Know What Sort Of Fish This Is?
This large fish caught my grandson's attention at Nausicaa, and I wonder if there is anyone who can identify it for him?
We did e-mail Nausicaa, but have not heard from them.
I am pretty certain it is a Humphead Wrasse. Found around coral reefs.
ReplyDeleteaka Napoleon Wrasse / Elvis fish
ReplyDeleteThey get _very_ big, and can seem interested in divers.
I've seen 'em in the Red Sea
Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI caught one off Antigua a few years ago
ReplyDeleteVery tasty, salted.

ReplyDeleteDinner for 20?
ReplyDeleteLooks like properly battered it would go great with chips.
ReplyDeleteI would have gone for a Maori Wrasse.
ReplyDeleteThey leave in the Great Barrier Reef just off Queensland.
It is a humphead wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus)
ReplyDeleteNapoleon Wrasse or a Grouper I'd say.
