Anyone Know What Sort Of Fish This Is?

This large fish caught my grandson's attention at Nausicaa, and I wonder if there is anyone who can identify it for him?

We did e-mail Nausicaa, but have not heard from them.

Thanks!

  1. I am pretty certain it is a Humphead Wrasse. Found around coral reefs.

  2. aka Napoleon Wrasse / Elvis fish

They get _very_ big, and can seem interested in divers.

I've seen 'em in the Red Sea

  3. I caught one off Antigua a few years ago

    Very tasty, salted.

  4. Looks like properly battered it would go great with chips.

  5. I would have gone for a Maori Wrasse.
They leave in the Great Barrier Reef just off Queensland.
