Former Chairmen of the BBC are lining up to express their outrage and disgust at the Jimmy Savile revelations.
"It's an absolute disgrace!" frothed Sir Michael Lyons, "The media are whipping up a completely unrequired hysteria about the BBC just because of a bit of kiddy fiddling in our dressing rooms. For goodness sake, it was years ago, and all those children are grown up now, so what does it matter? If it wasn't that man Savile it would have been some grubby little oik behind the bike sheds touching them up, so what does it matter?"

"It was nothing to do with the BBC anyway - I'm sure if you examine the details Jimmy Savile was on a freelance contract for tax avoiding purposes, arranged to maximise his income and save the BBC having to pay National Insurance. And from what I read he was at it all over the place, not just on BBC premises, so it's nothing to do with the BBC, we just made the man a millionaire celebrity with access to impressionable children. Now would you please just go away, I'm trying to find ways of spending all my pensions?"
